Continuation of "Heart of ___" Gear

    Key

(?) - idea that I personally find questionable at the moment of making this post

    A Little Backstory

After the SR jade blade from video point spawns, I decided to look at its weapon skill for a trip down memory lane. It said "Heart of Vitality -- Chance to increase the EFFECT of Soldier abilities 'Life Up' and 'Heaven's Breath'." I've come to realize that many of the new weapon skills only increase AP for skills nowadays without touching the secondary effects of skills, which I think is kinda unga-bunga. Then I went to go enchant attack stance and thought, "What if there were weapons that could blow this skill way out of proportion?"

    Suggestion

So something I would like to suggest is to make easily accessible gears that increase the effect of some outdated skills or skills that have rarely seen any play.
I think something like Heart of Glass would be interesting and would amplify the effect of Attack Stance, both the AP damage dealing buff and the AP damage receiving debuff. Same thing with a defense stance proc but with the buffs and debuffs switched, of course. Now, I'm at my wits end with how you'd buff Hunt without making it OP. As for Concentrate, though admittedly this is a stretch, rather than just buffing the AP increase maybe it could also decrease the casting time for this move? I also don't know what I'd do for clerics...

    So far, my ideas are

    1) Heart of Glass
Chance to increase the effect of Lancer ability "Attack Stance"
    - scales the AP buff and debuff by a factor of 4(?)
    2) Heart of Tank
Chance to increase the effect of Soldier ability "Defense Stance"
    - scales the AP buff and debuff by a factor of 4(?)
    3) Heart of the Predator
Chance to increase the effect of Archer ability "Hunt"
    - doubles(?) the duration of the 10-15% chance to ignore damage
Side Note: does hunt even stack?
    4) Heart of Focus
Chance to increase the effect of Mage ability "Concentrate"
    - scale the AP increase by a factor of 4(?)
    - speed up casting time (?)

Then if I were to step into 4th ring territory...

    1) Secret of Loyalty
Chance to increase the effect of Soldier ability "Sacred Hand" and add an effect to "Knight's Loyalty"(?) and :Knight's Devotion"(?)
    - Kind of a lame buff, but only increases the healing AP of Sacred Hand
    - Knight's Loyalty will reduce the damage you soak from teammates(?)
    2) Secret of the Shout (idk)
Chance to increase the effect of Lancer ability "Demoralize" and "Bestial Shout"
    - At max skill level, gives 3(?) stacks of paralysis instead of only 1 and/or add 4(?) stacks to the current debuff
    3) Secret of Spirits
Chance to increase the effect of Archer ability "Poem of Spirits", "World Tree's Blessing", and "Healing Wind"
    - Same thing as Heart of Healing and/or add 5(?) stacks buff to the current stat buff from Poem of Spirits
    4) Secret of Illusion
Chance to increase the effect of Mage ability "Cruel Illusion" and "Weaken Resolve"
    - At max skill level, gives 3(?) stacks of confusion instead of only 1 and/or add 4(?) stacks to the current debuff
    5) Secret of Purity
Chance to increase the effect of Cleric ability "Purification"
    - At max skill level, recovers 90%(?) of max HP for all allies

    And even crazier ideas

The following could simply rejuvenate all cost(?)

    0) Heart of Exchange
    - Chance to increase the effect of Mage ability "Ether Exchange"
    1) Heart of the Hero
    - Chance to increase the effect of Soldier ability "Pride"
    - increases unison gauge increase by 12(?)
    2) Heart of the Dragon
    - Chance to increase the effect of Lancer ability "Dragon Knight's Cry"
    - Increase AP debuff by 30(?)
    3) Heart of the Hunter
    - Chance to increase the effect of Archer ability "Hunter's Song"
    - increase AP buff by 30(?)
    4) Heart of the Fanatic
    - Chance to increase the effect of Mage ability "Fanatic Soul"
    - Increase crit AP buff by 30
    5) Heart of the Wish
    - Chance to increase the effect of Cleric ability "Pious Wish"
    - increase status ailment resistance buff by 30(?)

    Pitfalls

    1) Most of my ideas are about scaling/boosting up the effects of skills to absurd proportions in an attempt to make these outdated skills more relevant
    2) Some of these "outdated" skills may not be so outdated
    3) I have no idea what skills should be paired with Sacred Hand since I think 4th ring was a precursor to soldier's identity crisis
3.5) I'm unsure if Charisma should be the skill that receives its own "Heart of" skill rather than Sacred Hand
    4) I'm at a loss for interesting cleric "Heart of" ideas (Maybe the barrier skills should get a weapon proc instead?)

    Closing Thoughts

The numbers I've suggested could definitely be tweaked for better balance. The Ring 1 Stance procs were just ideas I thought would be fun to use in pve and maybe even in pvp. Due to the variety of soldier ability effects form Ring 2-4, I've had trouble figuring out which moves to include for the Secret proc. I mainly wanted 4th ring skills to get buffed so that status ailments could actually be viable in pvp. I'd like to emply a strategy that forces people to switch with their backline to get rid of the status ailment, so to balance the potential cheapness of status ailment procs, maybe frontlines could switch out much faster if they have ailments applied to them? Idk what do you think? I'd like to see different viewpoints on this suggestion and I'm totally cool with these ideas getting shut down.

tl;dr I think it would be nice to continue making more Heart of ___ weapons for the various class abilities that have non-damaging effects. And it's also good to note that I have no personal experience with the current pvp meta, or even pve meta, so these ideas are merely from a person who came back to check in on UL after 2ish years.

I love your ideas and enthusiasm! I would personally love a push in improving the "flavor" of things in the game. Currently, most things, especially monster's abilities, feel generic. Lucifer is still one of my favorite monsters because his ability is so unique to him even if it is lackluster. Even Alexander feels flavored as the "Lancer" or "Soldier" monster since his buffs target ATK/DEF and he hits hard ONCE like soldiers/lancers used to.

It would be really cool if they could make debuffing enemies in PVE more of a viable strategy through these weapon procs. Would be really interesting to see the day outdated moves like Vanquish and Dragon Thrust become useful for their debuffs.

This is a very interesting idea. To integrate a system of boosting effects rather than the sole damage of abilities is a bold idea to provide. I love it, and I think much of the community would find this to be a nifty idea that adds variety to the game. Well done mate.

          Alternate Ideas

          5.5) Secret of Relief
Chance to increase the effect of Cleric ability "Light of Relief" and "Barrier"
          - At max skill level, add 4(?) stacks of damage reduction and/or apply the effects of Heart of Healing for Light of Relief (*not to be confused with Heart of Health)

          Some More Pitfalls

          6) How OP would a double proc'd attack/defense stance/concentrate be?
          - if a proc is an additive bonus that scales the AP buff, a single proc'd defense stance +10 would result in 30 + (30 x 4) = 150 AP reduction received and 25 + (25 x 4) 125 AP reduction dealt. Alongside defense gear procs, this sounds pretty OP to me if you wanna emphasize survival
          - If attack stance turns out to be the only counter to this, I don't think it would be fair to keep this weapon skill locked to lances/scythes
          7) GvG meta could devolve into a boring stalling match if players adopt a super defensive strategy that combines the effects of opening concentration gear, really good defense gear procs, and a single or double proc'd defense stance.
          - Maybe this could be where status ailments fall into play?
          - But what if you're up against a full team of clerics running this strategy alongside prohibit unison attacks?
          - Would this be fun instead? Coming up with counters to this kind of strategy and all...
          8) If this suggestion were to successfully create a diverse set of viable GvG builds (I'm definitely getting ahead of myself here), it could put a lot of pressure on the devs to come up with more interesting ability effects to encourage players to try out new strategies. If the devs don't deliver in this regard, I think it could hasten the discontinuation of UL
